Dean Hewitson is probably one of the best-travelled and well-experienced winemakers in Australia. Having plied his trade in the USA, France and Italy, he first created Hewitson Wines in 1998, buying up premium grapes from across South Australia. He now has his own plots of land, but is still best known for using these old-vine grapes from the iron-rich terra rossa soils of Barossa.
