INFO: The Cazes family has been rooted in the Medoc for generations. Most importantly, as the family has grown so has the focus on their quality wine production.
Chateau Orem de Pez is one of St-Estèphe`s leading Cru Bourgeois properties. It was bought by Jean-Charles Cazes in 1936 and is now owned and run by Jean-Michel Cazes who also owns Lynch-Bages The estate is located just outside the village of Pez in the northern part of the St. Estephe commune.
The grapes are hand-harvested and then fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats. The wine is then matured in a combination of one and two-year-old barrels from Lynch-Bages.
Produced from the younger fruit of Château Les Ormes de Pez. The blend is 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Again, the young fruit delivers a forward, silky style for immediate pleasure, but the classic Saint Estèphe structure is also clearly on show.
