INFO: The vines date from 1936 and are low yielding, producing a rich, concentrated style of Volnay. Grown in the Premier Cru named plot of Clos des Chênes in Volnay.
Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks and the wine was transferred into French oak casks, of which 25% were new, with bâtonnage of the fine lees adding complexity and texture until the completion of malolactic conversion. Racked after 10 months in barrel, the wine was gently fined and filtered prior to being estate bottled by gravity.
Silky and light bodied Volnay with liquorice, wild strawberry and raspberry tones. Superbly fine tannins give a classy, understated mouthfeel through to a lingering and elegant finish.
