REGION: Western Cape, South Africa
VARIETIES: Viognier
ALCOHOL: 14%
VITICULTURE: Conventional
YEAR: 2024
INFO: This area is hot and arid and the bush vines are dry farmed. This results in low yield high quality grapes and wines.
The fruit was harvested from a single vineyard at optimal phenolic ripeness. The grapes were crushed and the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 12.5°C, lasting for 12 to 14 days. 20% was barrel- fermented in older oak and left on the lees for six months where it matured in used 225 litre French oak barrels, before being filtered and bottled.
This Viognier is no exception with complex flavours of citrus, orange, apricot and peach. Excellent structure from the gentle use of oak and a good length on the finish.
